Well, Bush Sr. lost, dumb Dole lost and Dubya lost the popular vote. They were all shoe-ins, but didn't offer a gutsy difference. Now, that's what I call 'sucking'.

In the first two cases Pat would have been a better candidate, but his Party elites velified him and the conservative base losing what should be a comfortable margin.
