Well, thanks. I guess that is about as specific as we are going to get for a while. I still would like more details when they get them worked out.

I of course complete endorse the idea of tax cuts and rebates, but I am against simply handing a pile of money to a specific industry or sector. I think the airline industry bailout was a disastrously bad idea; if the Fed Gov really felt compelled to help them, how's about buying a billion dollars worth of airline tickets, to be redeemed in the future (heaven knows the government travels enough to use up the tickets)? This gets the cash to the airlines upfront, and the government gets value in return.

There is an appalling lack of imagination in Washington.
