hope you might be interested in one of these ...
and btw folks, when i disappear, hope i'm not seeming rude,
since it usually means i've wandered off to work on one
thing or another and lost my way back for a while ...

Yes, the weather link is so useful. They keep changing the daily picture of local areas so it's neat to look before planning what to wear. Of course, lately that's just meant do I take a raincoat or not - and whether it will freeze during the night. Don't TV weathermen get their information from it? I think I read that. Or did Servant tell us that when he first posted it?
Incidentally, what's the latest prediction for tornado and other wild weather in your area? It looks so threatening in the satellite view.

Yes, indeed, we are glad the son is back home now...but you are correct, he saw much of everyday life in many of the countries he visited, as he enjoyed living with the peoples of the region...that is how he felt he could really get to know them...I guess one of his happiest memories from that trip, is spending the night in a yak tent, with the nomadic tribespeople, on the plains of Tibet...he just loved the Tibetan people especially the children...he found them to be a people who have suffered much, and yet have retained a hope for the future, and are just very sweet loving peoples...
I guess, all in all, he saw everyday life in many different countries, he saw people who were just trying to make it in this world, and altho they were foreign, perhaps even exotic, their dreams for their lives were to have a home, have enough food, have healthy children, and share many of the same dreams of us Americans
it was quite a trip for him...seeing deserts, mountains, jungles, plains, beaches....but aside from all the nature scenes, he just loved meeting the people from all the different countries...
And they were just as interested in him...probably first, because he is so big, at 6'5", and then because he was an American...everyone wants to talk to the Americans...

Or did Servant tell us that when he first posted it? I don't think I posted it. I don't remember who did

I will try to be on as much as I can....of course, the son is moving this weekend, so that will be an ordeal...and Christmas decorating will take up a lot of time...but I will try to be on as often as I can....good nite, sweet Palo...give that Lulu girl a big kiss....

JimRob, I think you need to check the thread indexes. I posted a reply to So9 about the same time this was posted, but mine never showed up. However, Mo1's reply shows up with the rest of mine when I do a Self Search.

Ok, Our tornado watch has been lifted for tonight. Thank goodness. They predict we'll have some serious rain starting around midnight. The wind is up, it's warm and muggy outside. I think the temperature was 83* today but if the weatherman is correct our high tomorrow is supposed to be about 45*. That must be one very nasty storm coming this way. LOL. Yes, I think you're right, many TV weathermen and communities use that same NOAA Doppler System.
To: LisaAnne
Yep. Started raining around 5 pm, now it's really pouring, and the wind chimes are really ringing!

I'm staying hunkered down. I think it's the time of year to switch from wine to hot buttered rums.

Well, I don't like it. *L* It's Clinton's Fault.
Anything as screwed up as this week's weather has to be his fault.
