Two men abducted. No ransom, abducted not kidnapped Dissimilar occupations. One with the knowledge of the most successful mass media secrets in the history of modern advertising - the ubiquitous AOL free CD. The other with the knowledge of how to compartmentalize deadly contagions, Hemorrhagic fever (ebola) being at the top of list. Scary stuff. We need to know more. Discussion welcome, links wanted.

It doesn't have anything to do with the Internet. It has everything to do with the fact that this guy has a good understanding of how to operate the AOL customer list. These folks probably have every address in the United States.

This particular executive may well have been carrying around a copy of it in compacted form on CDs.

With that list in hand the terrorists not only would know every address in America, they would have avoided hundreds of thousands of dollars in mailing list rental costs. Then, with that biologist to "fine tune" stuff, they'd be ready to launch another attack - through the mail where they know we are unprepared to detect such an attack until it is too late!

I got the joke but I had missed that column and had no idea Farah was *still* having AOL problems. I don't know why he didn't sue them years ago! Now he wants lawyers to contact *him* -- so he still must not be too serious about it.

Well, I think if they wanted anything from the AOL customer list it would more likely be the credit card information.

What a nightmare possibility?

Genius to see this possibility here.

I don't why he would pick these guys, when there are better targets like Hillary.

Now who would do anything to get Hillary back?

Why no mention of Chandra Levy - she's been missing since April.

I really am at a loss as to the utility of the AOL guy but the bio-physicist from Harvard could very well solve some problems in making something like e-Bola a deliverable weapon. I would guess someone with knowledge about our satelite communications systems mught well be next if this is connected to Al Qaeda.

Stay well - Stay safe - stay armed - Yorktown

Have you ever heard of the s**t happens theory? Some people are ACTUALLY victims of crimes. Why don't you wait and see what develops before you breathlessly state that they were "abducted"?

You must not be from around here, stranger... *grin*

How much do we have to pay for them to keep him?

Demographics. Let's say you want to mail something to the kiddies that they will be sure to open. Remember when Osama's kid got killed about 3 weeks ago? There's the motive. This is part of the method. Just what is on those files and are all copies of the AOL data base accounted for? Certainly the Director of Marketingwould have had some access here.

Sounds like some loony misinformed Islamic terrorist is attempting to propogate a lethal bio virus via AOL.

I don't believe it was Osama's kid. In fact it was the ten year old son of Mullah Omar. He was killed when Special Forces went into the Omar compound, I believe.

Right - that made the kid Osama's brother-in-law. Probably irritated his sensibilities too - that we'd kill a kid going after him. He probably never guessed that.

Well, technically the little boy would be Osama's son's brother-in-law because I think it was Osama's son that married Mullah Omar's daughter. Osama's daughter married Atef's son. All in the family in any case!

Osama's 4th wife, 13 isn't she? - she's Omar's daughter.

Hmmmm....I don't think so. There is a picture of Osama's son's wedding to the daughter of either Omar or Atef. I believe it was Omar. One of his daughter's married the son of the other guy. However, I really don't think it matters. I am simply going by what I have read and seen. I have no first hand knowledge of the family and really don't care who is married to who. I think the point we were both trying to make is that the family are intertwined by marriage. 8^)

Certainly that is our point - no doubt it goes back a long way - most likely to siblings.
