Aol and Microbiologist abductions needs more discussion

Two men abducted. No ransom, abducted not kidnapped Dissimilar occupations. One with the knowledge of the most successful mass media secrets in the history of modern advertising - the ubiquitous AOL free CD. The other with the knowledge of how to compartmentalize deadly contagions, Hemorrhagic fever (ebola) being at the top of list. Scary stuff. We need to know more. Discussion welcome, links wanted.

It doesn't have anything to do with the Internet. It has everything to do with the fact that this guy has a good understanding of how to operate the AOL customer list. These folks probably have every address in the United States.

This particular executive may well have been carrying around a copy of it in compacted form on CDs.

With that list in hand the terrorists not only would know every address in America, they would have avoided hundreds of thousands of dollars in mailing list rental costs. Then, with that biologist to "fine tune" stuff, they'd be ready to launch another attack - through the mail where they know we are unprepared to detect such an attack until it is too late!

First off, we need a special episode of America's Most Wanted with these two gentlemen's faces splashed across every TV screen in America. This one scares me.

I was sure they'd pull something at/around Halloween. I'm unsettled and reluctant to make any more pronouncements about what they're likely to do. I doubt that having AOL's customer information is going to be all that useful. I'm pretty sure that comparable information can be found any number of other ways without the risk involved in an abduction. The biochemist is pretty much the same. I think it more likely that hostages are being collected for some purpose. Why these two particular people? I have no idea.

First of all, who said they were abducted? I have no clue why they are missing.

Secondly, if you want to "connect the dots" all you have so far are two. Pretty easy to connect them. Doesn't require a lot of brain power. Might only require some degree of "they are both missing, MUST be something sinister."

Have you ever heard of the s**t happens theory?

Some people are ACTUALLY victims of crimes.

Why don't you wait and see what develops before you breathlessly state that they were "abducted"?

By all right's, the prime suspect in the AOL "kidnapping" ought to be Joseph Farrah.

That Arab pitty-wagger who got his $10 million shoved back into his face by Guliani was a large AOL stockholder.

The microbiologist worked with the St Jude Children's Hospitals, and was returning from a conference there. The doctor in Chile who was sent the anthrax letter also worked with that organization. He was a specialist in infectious diseases. The St Jude organization is funded by the Lebanese/Syrian Christians.

I would think persons with intimate knowledge of comsat and military uses of space based systems would rank high. Our technology edge is giving the enemy fits on the battlefield. But it would appear these people are obsessed with microbiology. Not good for the home front.

I just read on another thread that bin Ladin had previously issued an order to kindnap some people to be used as hostages if he or his top flunkies are captured or killed. I don't why he would pick these guys, when there are better targets like Hillary.

Don't forget all the Scientist that disappeared from Afghanistan about 6 to 8 months ago, where are they and what are they doing right now? Did we ever so politely grant them visas to attend school in the good old USA? Did a Security Lab hire them instead of local scientist? Are they security guards at some secret facility right now, or an airport screener?

Or were they moved to Iraq to help Suddan with his chemical and biological weapons program to make it more effective and easier to use?

So many questions and not any answers right now.

Wait a minute. One of the largest resource tools for investigators was developed in the Middle East. It is a data base that already contains most people in the United States. It has been around for years now, and I am sure it has been improved upon many times over. The AOL customer list may have been developed using that database...or a similar one. So that's not it. Access to credit card information or money might be. Hmmmm.
