Yer mama is Right...Limbaugh's been more of a blessing for Conservatism than anybody since Reagan, and I say that despite the realization that the words he says are far to the Left of the views I have developed within my WorldView. But what Rush does well is to engage the Sheeple with the Truth...folks listening to the radio in the office, at the jobsite, travelling in cars from sales callto sales call, folks just absorbing his words and realizing how much the Vast, LeftWing Medyuh Whore'd has been lying to them all along!!
IMHO, Goldwater gave Life and Principle to Conservatism, then he begat Reagan...then Reagan won and showed how Conservatism could be put into practice to a certain degree as he cut back on the shackles of the Federal Guv'ment and FReed up the Power of American Ingenuity and got the Capitalist Engine purring again, insodoing he begat Limbaugh...then Limbaugh began the ultimate Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the American Sheeple!! Limbaugh's been at it fer 14 years and in that time, FoxNewsChannel sprung up, as did the Internet and Drudge, Newsmax and Jewish World Review...and ultimately, the insatiable desire fer Truth led to the creation out of thin air of FreeRepublic.com.
