Please explain, how, if there truly is one God, can my God and your God be different?

Simple semantics. Allah is NOT another name for Jehova. Allah is a lesser god who loves to murder. The Babylonians and others of OT times had their false gods and The God hated them and the people who worshipped them. One group who practiced child sacrifice was ordered wiped out by The God of the Jews.

Polytheism ruled the earth untill Abram (not yet renamed Abraham) hit upon the revolutionary idea of 'One God'. He petitioned this God and This God made Himself known as much as was possible to Abram. Thus began the unfolding of The One God's will for mankind.

You conveniently discount all this because it makes things easieir for you. You owe nothing because you deny the existence of a personal God who might make demands upon you. It's a game many play and you will not gain eternal life (whatever that is) if you stick to it.

God never said that there are not other gods. In fact, he told us to "have no other gods before Me."

A god is basically anything that we willfully promote as more important than the Everlasting Almighty Everlasting Father Mighty Wonderful Counselor God.
