Having done some marketing work for them, Chik-fil-A is a deeply religious company. I'm not surprised they would hire homeschoolers...a large bulk of which are homeschooled for religious reasons.

I agree that the company is operated with religious principles (closed on Sundays for one), but I think that this decisions is actually one that is based on business sense. John Maxwell's Law of the Chain states that any organization is only as strong as it's weakest link. Ever been to a restaurant and the serving staff or waitress or waiter are rude, incompetent or both?

I think that experience has shown them that homeschooled young people make great employees. Why?

Some will argue that the public school stinks and homeschooling is the only way. (I disagree having had my kids in public, private and home schools at some point)

Some will say it is because of the homeschooler's faith in God. (I disagree - although I am a very devout Christian...I have known Christians who are no eartly good at all.)

In my opinion, the most important reason why a homeschooled kid will do well as a fast food worker - and farther on in life is because their parents are very involved in their lives. Of course there are stories of homeschooled kids who don't turn out well (although there are also many stories of public schooled kids who also don't turn out well so there is not much of an arguement there). But the large majority of homeschooled kids (like close to 100%) have parents who are very involved in their lives. I'm not saying that there are not kids in public schools whose parents are involved in their lives but the percentage have to be greater for the homeschooled (just by the nature of the activity). Gum
