Not a bad idea at all. May I suggest dropping the verse numbers within paragraphs and putting in, say, "bullets" to separate the verses? Anyone wanting to know the exact verse can count bullets from the verse number at the start of the paragraph, and it would scan better.

Why the KJV? Why not use the Geneva Bible?
To: Grut
We thought of that, but decided that using smaller numbers, would keep the numbers more or less unobtusive, while at the same time letting people know where they were, esspecially in following their pastor at church.

You would have to ask the pastor that question, while he is very open to our suggestions and comments, it is his project. You can reach him through the link on the description page or email him at Pastor@ChristianPatriot.com
My guess is that you will find yourself agreeing with his reasoning.

What is the difference between the KJV and the Geneva?

With all due respect, re: "The Defination Page". In the last paragraph the author writes, "One last thing before proof reading, always go down on your knees and ask the Lords(
sic) help..."
The statement, while sincere, is still a bit...um...a bit "disconcerting", shall we say?

Thank You

As always, you are most welcome!

And we would love to have the two of you join in as proof readers, give it some thought, it will be an opportunity to not only read the Bible, but go through every word. It will also give you an ideal time to compare the KJV with the Geneva.
All you need is the one Pastor is doing, and an original KJV, preferable one printed in large type before 1890, and one other person. One reads the edition in colowr and the other checks every workd agaisnt what is written in the original KJV, then when a you get to anything like colored words, you verify that it is what is written in the original as you do with anything in italics.

Actually, there are many Christians on FR who may be interested, so to say that it adds nothing is not really accurate from those people's perspective.
For example, I am interested in reading it, and while I hold the KJV to be the most accurate of Bible translations in English and will not go for changes to it ... I am interested in a project like this that through paragraph breaks and text color attempts to make the reading easier.
Hope this helps, realizing that it is just my opinion.

This adds nothing to the general communiy of Free Republic. Take your theology exercises elsewhere, please. I disagree. Many Freepers read that book on a daily basis, and it is an important part of their lives. This discussion is at least as relevant as the "Prom Mom," "Things Guys Wish Girls Knew," and other cheese threads we see here on a daily basis.
Perhaps you should approach JR to become a moderator if you feel this strongly about the subject.

I understand your frustration and, to some extent, share it. It is hard sometimes to find the meat of what you are looking for on the board.
I chalk it up (and have donen so now for several years) as a part of the nature of FR. One has to put up with such frustrations in order to have the opportunity to enoy adn learn from the atmosphere that FR represents IMHO.
Jim and John have done an amazing job over the years of improving this circumstance. If it helps any in this regard ... it used to be even more frustrating.
Just the same, it has always been worth putting up with it to be presented with the amazing array of articles, news (I like the stuff from our own FReepers who are on scene scooping the major media and giving it to us straight), opinions, philosophy and editorial that make the FR experience such an enriching one ... usually (there are clearly some articles that are not enriching at all ... those which make one feel that way are best just simply avoided IMHO).
Regards.
