James Snyder, Republican Runs for Senate in North Carolina

Just saw an interview with Jim Snyder on Channel 7, Washington, NC. He is going against Elizabeth Dole in the Republican primary.

He is in favor of concealed carry, for local control and smaller government. Looks good to me. He is a lawyer, but nobody is perfect. Any comments?

Anyone has to be better than Mrs. Dole.
BUT, as a Virginian who has witnessed the unthinkable from Virginia voters by electing a ultra-left-wing-liberal-lying-hypocrite to the governorship, who knows what we will elect in place of Senator John Warner when he steps down, because there is talk that he will not run for re-election.
Heck, we may elect a Democrat for all I know......and that was nearly impossible for me to even write...

Sorry to say............no, I know nothing about him. What little you've said about him sounds good, but he's got one HELL of a tough road running against Mrs. Dole. Face it; this is the same state that sent that poofy empty suit, John Edwards (D), to the Senate. They also just elected a passle of Democratic mayors here.

Jesse Helms couldn't get elected here any more if he was just trying to break into politics. Would NEVER happen. He was such a fixture in DC and had such seniority, he was a darned-near shoe-in for years. This state has changed, and I don't like the changes, m'self.

I wish this man huge amounts of luck, but you'd better get used to the name Dole on the Republican ticket 'cause it's going to be her, I'm convinced.

When Republicans get too right-wing, Democrats get elected. Ask Bret Schundler. Ask U.S. Rep. Van Hilleary next year when he gets unemployed by the people of Tennessee.

Agreed. Honorable, Christian men with integrity always finish last.
Men like McCain, Jeffords, Specter and Chaffee and women like Snow and Collins get elected and re-elected instead.

Snyder came across well in the TV interview I saw. One can always hope.

No, just a guy who watched an interview on TV and got a little excited that someone is challenging Dole from the right.

Also look at moderates like Spence Abraham and Slade Gorton. They lost. Spence turned his back on gunowners. Gorton was also unreliable.

Faircloth I believe also talked right, but wavered on guns as well.

I don't know if Dole can win statewide.
