Nope. It's not a trick. And I'm not a Southern hospitalitist either. I don't think. What is that anyway?

Most Southerners are good people and I like them a lot. But Free Republic seems to attract a large contingent of them that are self-righteous hypocrits and blame their problems on everyone else and want to somehow claim that a slavery filled pre-1861 South was utopia. I was using the term "Southern Hospitalitist" sarcastically to show their hypocrisy.

Oh. Well I'm a self-righteous hypocrit, all right. But I'm not blaming my problems on anybody or anything but my own damn-fool self, and I'm not cultivating any illusions. Self-deception is dangerous.

What I said about Michigan is true.

My brother-in-law--from Georgia--has been married twice. Both wives were from Michigan. I don't know why.

Wife #1 was from Bloomfield Hills. What a beautiful place. Nice wedding.

The UP won my heart though. My wife and I had a long, leisurely trip there one time. It was so beautiful. The birches. The evergreen trees. The strong wind blowing from the lake.

Be thankful!
