I was under the impression that god gave us all this overpowering need to procreate?. Continuation of the species and all of that. Development of the species and higher brain function is the wild card here. Recession and the occasional stray nuclear weapon are the only 'natural' enemies we have these days to the continuation of the allmighty homosapien.
