It's 9am, and I've got the turkey in the oven. It's an 18 pounder and I'm cooking it slow and we eat in the afternoon rather than the evening, so it should be done at about the right time. What a tiny oven I have here - it barely fit in - nice though to have an oven at my height (it's a built-in). Yoda was fascinated with the entire process and meowed at me all the time, and tried to get real close. He offered to babysit the turkey for me last night while it was brining, he promised to be the most devoted turkey babysitter ever. I had to shut him up in my room.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

TK, thanks for the turkey photo. MMMMM. We'll be on our way in about 3 hours, driving to the central valley to go to my husband's sister's house. I'm bringing the dinner rolls, the famous pumpkin cheesecake, green beans and of course, wine. As well as the pumpkin ale I picked up in Hayward last weekend. I doubt therre will be a shortage of food and drink today.

Guess who went to bed last night unprepared...and woke up this morning to find out I'm cooking for 20 plus people due at my house in 6 hours!! I don't even think I have enough pots to cook with!
