Excuse me, that moron d'amato wouldn't let the man say his piece. d'amato has diaherria of the mouth. BTW, I am diametrically opposed to browne, however, in all fairness he shoulld have been allowed to speak otherwise they should not have invited him on the program. As for this being a "war". it is not until congress declares as such. bin laden is nothing more than a field general who teaches his devils, someone else is pulling the strings. Can you say, iraq? syria? libya? saudi arabia? One or all of them have a hand in this obscenity. As far as repubs are concerned, EagleEye has it right. They let an evil man off the hook when they had a majority.
Please reply to me without insults and we can discuss our positions intellegently.
I'll say one thing for the dems, they let us know they are corrupt and tell us where they want to take this country
while the repubs accomplish the same thing only on a "piece meal" basis. They put us to sleep, so to speak.
the only diff are the names. Same old faces, same old crowd, same old solutions. BTW, I am NOT a libertarian.

I am sick to death of the self-proclaimed oracles of the Founding Fathers that strut around here spewing, your sanctimonious proclamations.Who cares if you are sick of anything...You don't like people quoting the constitution??? So what??? Constitution talk strikes a nerve with you, eh??? You have got nerve hanging around a place called Free Republic and then bashing the people that stand up for and defend the constitution...

First I'd suggest you stick your head in a bucket of water three times and pull it out, twice...
So humor us and tell us that George is the great defender of the Constitution and Pat B is not...The fact that you don't like Buchanan shows us where you liberals are taking the country to...
You tell us that my previous statement is asinine but yet everyone who knows Pat's and George's positions know that it's true...And if you don't know the position of both men, you're not qualified to discuss the topic...Now talk about asinine...

I swore an oath to protect and defend a document that says that people get to say things that are not popular and that I may not agree with, no matter how outrageously unflattering to the politicians in office.Yes, and it gives us the right to point out that what he says is sedition. His main attack was on the people of the United States, not on Bush.

drug czars taking away constitutional rights that took centuries and millions of lives to earnOh yes, millions of Americans in the Civil War and WWI and WWII died for the right to do drugs. Anyone who puts the highest value on a 'right' to poison themselves, demonstrates their ignorance of what this country is about.

Harry Browne is no longer the Libertarian Party's Presidential candidate (the 2000 election is over), he has no official position within the LP, he is not a spokesman for the LP (and does not pretend to be), and he is not representative of how most libertarians regard this war (he openly admits that a great many libertarians have expressed their sharp disagreement with his views).
A recent survey which was answered by over five thousand people on the Libertarian Party's email list showed strong overall support for the War. Among other statistics, 73.7% support bomb and missile attacks on bin Laden and his terrorist network, 85.8% support American special forces units operating covertly in Afghanistan to try to capture bin Laden, 65.1% support putting more substantial numbers of American ground troops in Afghanistan to try to capture bin Laden, and 66.4% support American military attacks against Afghanistan's Taliban government and against Afghan military targets.

Whatever happened to "I disagree with what you say, but willl defend to the death your right to say it"???? Mighty easy to be branded unpatriotic, or a "terrorist" these days on this once sensible board. It is pretty amusing for the whiners who say 'Ooo - ooo, they want to take away the free speech of the enemy spokesmen', don't place any value on the right of those who disagree with scum like Brown to use their free speech rights to criticize him. It just shows where they are coming from. For them it is better and nobler to defend Bin Laden than to defend this country.

Baste Browne!
To: Eagle Eye
Looks to me like you are the Bush version of the clintonite koolaid drinker. And you are the Browne version of Quisling.
To: Cuban123
Harry Browne said Bush was a liar that was lying to the American people, that we were bombing innocent civilians that did nothing when it cameto the terror attacks, that we did not try to solve the situation by negotiating with the terrorists, that America was a mean bully, that Tony Blair's document proving Osama did it was all a fraud, and the whole world hated us and most people did not like us.Another example of a glib guy, who can string together a speech, or a book, but hasn't got enough common sense to keep his mouth shut. I think he must have fried his brain, with drugs.
Phuque Harry Browne, and anyone who believes as he seems to. Hopefully this minor philosopher political party will select a better candidate, next time. Truly an embarrasment.

.....I turned the channel....guess I didn't miss much.Actually you did. Al Damato, sitting in for Sean, ripped Browne up one side and down the other. Browne was reduced to whining "Can I talk now, is it my turn to talk, you won't let me talk". Al was terrific. Thought he was going to burst a blood vessel or something.

Is it your position that the Constitution only protects criticism that Eagle Eye agrees with but that any criticism that Eagle Eye does not agree with is unconstitutional and repressive?Eagle, like so many in the LP have the paranoid belief that they are the only ones defending constitutional liberties, and that therefore constitutional protections only apply to them. From his attitude on these pages, he has no tolerance at all for opinions that differ with his.
And this is nothing new. In his famous review of Atlas Shrugged in National Review, Whittaker Chambers pointed out this libertarian intolerance. He said that despite the pretense of supporting the rights of all, there was in her writing a voice saying 'to a gas chamber go.' The objectivists were not amused.

..Likely the attack on our country would not have happened under Pat Buchanan..(your post) You win the "most asinine" post of the day award. (my post)Congratulations
I'm sorry you and your mentor Pee Wee Herman see fit to insult my post that I cited above. My point, if you had bothered to read it, was no one in office for less than 9 months could have prevented the attack. Not even your God, Pat B.
