1. there were more slaves in the north in 1865 because the damnyankees were holding more slaves! no other reason.

2. Ben "the BEAST" Butler selling slaves for the good of the damnyankee high command & himself illustrates nothing except that he & and all the others of the yankee high command were interested in nothing but $$$$$$$ & POWER.

the WBTS was, once again, about the arrogant, hatefilled damnyankees lust to CONTROL/DOMINATE the south politically & economically, while continuing to do whatever was in THEIR personal interest. every other excuse was just eyewash to fool the credulous & stupid.

The number went from 10 to 12. LOL

The North was significantly reducing their percentage of the population that were slaves since 1800. Lincoln and the Radical Republicans cared about slavery, that's all it took.

the WBTS was, once again, about the arrogant, hatefilled damnyankees lust to CONTROL/DOMINATE the south politically & economically, while continuing to do whatever was in THEIR personal interest.

The Civil War was about preservation of the union, the abolition of slavery being a fringe benefit.

every other excuse was just eyewash to fool the credulous & stupid.

So you've never read South Carolina's Declarationn of Secession? If you would read it, you would read the South's own words that say they seceded mainly to preserve slavery. Truths are stubborn things that just won't go away, will they?
