The ultimate revisionism is to say that slavery had nothing to do with secession when South Carolina's Declaration of Secession says slavery was the driving force.

Lincoln and the Radical Republicans cared about slavery, the rest wanted to preserve the union.

I have. I've read South Carolina's Declaration of Secession. The South's own words and they say slavery was the reason.
