1980-1860=120

1864 Grant (republican)carried Tn Nc Sc Al Fl Wv

1868 Grant (republican) carried Tn Nc Sc Al Fl Wv Va

1872 Grant (republican) carried Nc Sc Va Al Fl Ms

And that didn't save us from the New Deal

The only states that didn't vote for Roosveldt in '36 were ME and VT - Likewise in '40 there were only 10 states that didn't vote for the communist bastard, so once again your statement makes no sense

Like I said, come back when you know what you're talking about

1. the union is not an indivisible contract;the US Supreme Court said sucession was LAWFUL in 1866.

2. the preservation of the union was NOT worth the loss of >1,000,000 lives-including at least 500,000 innocent civilians. if tommorrow 13 states decided to depart the union peacefully i would suggest that is quite acceptable, especially given the war alterenative.

3. to quote Tom Jefferson: "resistance to tyrants is obediance to God".

open your eyes. the official STATED POLICY of the government was to DESTROY THE CULTURE OF & DRIVE OUT and/or KILL EVERY INDIAN in the country until 1880. the policy had been stated in the 18th century.

can you say TRAIL of TEARS, children? sure you can.

If Grant carried Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida in 1864 didn't that make Jefferson Davis angry?

Actually Grant carried Tennessee in 1862. Sherman carried North and South Carolina in 1865 (chuckle, snort).

if you are correct (and you are sadly misinformed), then you should have let us go. but of course, for the damnyankee government & elites, the war was about just ONE thing = continuing to CONTROL/DOMINATE the southland.

they cared/care about just ONE thing = POWER. true then, true now.

The stuff they say about the poor quality of the southern school systems really is true, isn't it? The 1864 election was between Lincoln and McClellan, as you would have learned had you read the words instead of looking at the pictures. The map is an error. Read your own links for God's sake.

The only states that didn't vote for Roosveldt in '36 were ME and VT...

See, two Northern states. You guys are just as reponsible for socialism as we are.

1. the union is not an indivisible contract;the US Supreme Court said sucession was LAWFUL in 1866.

As long as Article IV, Section 1 is followed.

2. the preservation of the union was NOT worth the loss of >1,000,000 lives-including at least 500,000 innocent civilians.

I think it was. Millions were killed in WW2 because certain countries didn't have the ability to fend of Germany and Japan because of their smallness.

if tommorrow 13 states decided to depart the union peacefully i would suggest that is quite acceptable, especially given the war alterenative.

Go for it. How many are with you?

3. to quote Tom Jefferson: "resistance to tyrants is obediance to God".

1860 Southern slaveowners were the most tyrannical is Americas history.

It was about preserving the union in a dangerous world.
