LOL! My wife discovered eBay 2 weeks. She is now an addict and I'm going to the poorhouse. If you find an eBay anonymous group, I will send her to you!!!

If you ever have/see a pressure cooker for sale (Fedor Classic or Magafesa) please let me know. There is one currently running but $205.00 is a bit steep.

Not sure this is what you had in mind for Freeper stuff on ebay...It is a DVD chronicle of news, interviews, scenes from September 11. Pretty interesting viewing. Some touching scenes of people cheering on the NYPD rescures. Also some great scenes showing American patriotism and how quickly America came together.

I am just getting ready to liquidate the contents of my mother's home (estate situation). I wonder if we could sell some of the things that way? Hmmm, never thought of that. I just can't imagine having to sit and ID/list each thing. I'll have to look into it.

I don't buy or sell on eBay - not YET. But want to look into it more. Did investigate when I was looking for assorted items in the past but did not find what I was searching for. I know it can be addictive and I don't need that! But would like to find out how to become a seller - so please ping me when you post your "how to" info. Thanks. Great thread.

Thanks, I'll update the list in a little bit.

For valuables and collectibles eBay would be the place. Also, just nick-knacks do well. It would take longer to liquidate, but I would think you would get more for everything.

Five Easy Steps to Selling on eBay1) Get a P.O. Box or a private postal box. Some customers will send you checks or money orders and for most of us it is preferable to not give out our home address.
2) Go here and register with eBay. If you can, use a different email address rather than your primary one. Most Internet providers allow you more than one address.
3) Open a PayPal account. (If you aren't familiar with PayPal - they are an online payment service and just about the best way for buyers to pay you on eBay. Open a Premier or Business account, rather than a personal account. They will want want bank and credit card info, but it is well worth it.)
4) If you don't have a digital camera, get one. Almost everything you are going to sell will need pictures. (you can use a film camera, but you will recoup the cost of a digital camera with what you save on film processing) Ebay gives you one free picture with each auction (see steps 6 & 7).
5) Go to eBay and sell your stuff!
Optional stuff. . .
6) If you are online then you probably have some free web space provided by your Internet provider. If you don't know how to use it this is the time to learn. I much prefer to link to my own pictures rather than use some of the third party services.
7) If you don't have an HTML editor, get one. You can jazz up your auctions with colors, multiple pictures, etc. There are free/low cost ones available. I use FrontPage, but maybe we can get some recommendations going here.
8) Order Priority Mail shipping supplies from the USPS . . . for free! For items up to 5 -6 Lbs. this is usually how I ship. Heavier items are usually cheaper sent UPS.
This is a start. I bet we will get a lot of advice and tips going here. There are, of course, many opinions as to the best way to sell on eBay. Read everything, try it and go with what works for you.

I was selling on e-bay, more just for the exposure, but have been too busy to fool with it since late this summer. Our
About Me page there at e-bay shows what we do and have and is at
http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/webmaster@ki4u.com/ We host at www.ki4u.com the Potassium Iodide Radiation Protection FAQ and at www.RadMeters4U.com the Civil Defense Radiation Detection Survey Meters, Geiger Counters & Dosimeters FAQ.
We are the largest retailer of Potassium Iodide and Potassium Iodate here in the US and also of re-calibrated and re-certified FEMA Civil Defense radiation meters. Located an hour south of Austin, TX, we've been pretty swamped here since 9/11, as you might guess.
