I remember thinking pursuit of happiness was a odd phrase to be in the Constitution. I'm not altogether sure why they chose that word. But it certainly addresses something basic in the reasons people give for coming here......for freedom, for jobs, for safety.....I guess "happiness" does cover a lot.

Sullivan is right to focus on this phrase. It is extraordinary.
