I dunno if I read your post right, but "Let It Be" was definitely not "pre-acid" days for the Fab Four. (released May of 1970).
And "Let It Bleed" may have been a cynical answer to something, just not, IMHO, an answer to "Let It Be" as the Stones released that album in 1969.
