Military families are a community in themselves, and if your kids hated it, it was because they didn't try to participate in the military community, NOT because of Utah. As to your visit, I'd bet their attitude was reflected in your impression. My friends love to visit, even from NYC.

It was not the military that was pounding on the door night and day trying to get more Mormon converts. I will say it again if you are not Mormon in Utah you are not liked or wanted there. Kind of sounds like the Bin Laden crowd dosen`t it?
