If you read the World Book Enclyclopedia, for instance, there you will learn that Mohammed hated war and taught against violence except for self defense. I suggest you read the Koran and the Hadith if you want a true flavor of islam. Mo was a warlord...during his exile in Medina he waged raids against caravans...looting, stealing and murdering. He claims at various times to have received his message directly from God...from angles and from Gabriel. Islam is a bunch of utter nonsense. If you read a little and get an idea of how they view such things as the truth, and treaties and alliances as flexible tools of convenience you'll understand how dangerous it is to trust these people.
The World Book Encyclopedia is not a suitable reference, read the koran and the hadith. It will open your eyes.

I said Encyclopedia, for instance. I have looked in various places for information about Islam. I have no desire to argue the point with anyone because quite frankly I have as much anger about the WTC and some of the things I have heard people from that part of the world say as you do, I am sure. I just want to be fair and understand Islam as it is without being embellished and distorted. I think what I read above has been distorted. But it doesn't matter. You are free to believe whatever you want. I do think that there are a number of religious scholars who might take a different view. It still will not change the fact that fanatics attacked America.
