Man Killed in Fight Over Bad Singing

MANILA (Reuters) - One man was killed and another wounded when a brawl broke out in a Philippine karaoke bar over the quality of singing, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

A 54-year-old laborer died of a stab wound in a bar in northern Manila early on Sunday after a fight which began when a group of drinkers said the man with the microphone was singing out of tune, according to the Philippine Star.

The singer confronted the group and a fight ensued, according to the report. The dead man had been trying to put an end to the fight when he was stabbed in the chest, it added.

A 24-year-old garment worker is being treated in hospital for stab wounds, the report said.

Recent newspaper reports have said Philippine karaoke parlors have been removing the Frank Sinatra classic "My Way" from playlists because fights frequently broke out when the song was being sung.

Monday's report did not indicate which song was playing when the fight began.

Well, if this guy was butchering the Chairman, Ol' Blue Eyes, the Voice... he got what he had coming. But "My Way" is not all that easy to sing, on the other hand.

"Karaoke" translates to "Ladies' Restroom" to me - I give 'em a wide berth and never consider entering. It's such a stupid, annoying concept.

You know what I like best about you, Hank? The cheery bit of sunshine you bring to a thread.

If these guys hadn't done it, Sinatra himself would have sent a couple of guys named Guido and Carmine from beyond the grave to take care of the problem.

I sang to my cat a couple weeks ago and she bit me (drew blood, too). Guess I better stay out of karaoke bars.

LOL!!!!! I'm embarrassed too. ;-)

I've sung in Karoake clubs...Patsy Cline, mostly. Sniff. People even dance when I sing.

It's all over now.....

You are almost impossible to embarrass. But you did forget one song in particular, Smurf Boy.

Ok. Now I'm confused...was the guy already dead when he was stabbed in the chest? That's what it sounds like....ROFLMAO!!!
