Surrender -- did Allah close the borders to paradise? 10,000 will not be wanted in Afghanistan or any other ME country and will apply for asylum in America -- and our nutcases in Washington will let them in.

Kunduz is an ethnic Pashtun enclave of about 60,000 people surrounded by Uzbeks and Tajiks, who make up the bulk of the Northern Alliance. The Taliban mostly consist of Pashtuns, who dominate southern Afghanistan.

The above information comes from the Fox News Website. I really question that 30,000 number. Would mean half the people around Kunduz were Taliban soldiers (minus the 2000 or so foreign Arabs). When this fight started the Taliban only had 45,000 troops counting foreign Arabs. So according to this report, every remaining Taliban soldier was at Kunduz?!? I have to put this report in the questionable category, till its substantiated by a more reliable source.

There are a variety of issues here. One: the status of surrendered Afghans. Two: the status of surrendered "foreigners." Three: the status of any NA forces that massacre surrendered forces.

If the surrendered forces are tried in a NA military tribunal and found guilty of war crimes, then the NA can execute them and claim international legitimacy for doing so. But killing all of the foreign forces based on the fact they are foreign would be, um, mean. The New York Times would be outraged.

I am sure that the NA doesn't concern itself most with the threat of tribunals prosecuting them for how they treat the Arab & Pakastani thugs. But it is the only shred of good news extracted by the surrounded forces. The Al Qaeda "folks" were holding the Talebans hostage. That has crumbled. If we are lucky, at least the foreign troops will be placed in POW camps to rot for a few decades.

Headline should have been:

UN Rescues 30,000 Taliban Hostages Surrounded by Infidel. Setting Taliban free allows for a "full and fair" war.

Just go away and molder in your misery at a tremendous military achievement by the U.S.

Your posts use the same language as your screen name, I'll grant you that.

This article is just Moscow propaganda, so my criticism is directed at them. I'm hoping that there is no truth to it. Rummy wouldn't let it happen.

Cheers!

Perhaps the person reporting these numbers uses the same counting techniques as the New York Times does, when it counts, say, "anti-war protestors" in Union Square. 500 protestors gets blown up to 10,000.

LOL!

Is this verified by other sources, or just more BS?

Not enough, yet. ALL of them should surrender, unconditionally, and submit to indoctrination in the Judaic faith, followed by an equal amount of Christian proselytization, after which time, they are then shown the entire sequence of the attack on the WTC, from the first hit to a live shot of the still-smoking crater. Then ask them, if they have been given a fair assessment of what has happened. If the wrong answer is given, apply a cattle prod.

Who says I don't believe in Infinite Justice?

The Al Qaeda foreigners need to die in battle.

The NA seems to try to weed them out.

Reports from last week stated that the Al Qaeda foreigners had executed Afghani Taliban that had tried to surrender. Hopefully, the Afghani Taliban have learned their lesson and will help the N.A. do a lot of "weeding" before the U.N. gives the Al Qaeda terrorists safe passage out of Afghanistan.

You bet, next we will hear that they want us to feed, house and pay them while we retrain them for different occupations. Then they will start a union and bitch.

After negotiations? Doesn't sound "unconditional" to me...

Here's the deal, surrender or you're dead. They took the deal.

Let the Talitubbies go. But every one of those Al Qaeda types who gets out of there is another Mohammad Atta. They all must die.

I say snuff the 'tubbies too. 'Tis better to err on the side of too many than too few.

"What's all the talk about another Vietnam?"

Ah, yes, the "quagmire" the media were also quick to predict, after only a couple weeks of war. Then there was their suggestion that we could't win in Afghanistan because the Soviets couldn't do it. My favorite was the whopper about Taliban retreat being nothing but a new, clever Taliban strategem. And now thousands of them have unconditionally surrended, diabolically luring us into a false sense of victory. They've really got us now!

Well... Maybe they negotiated for a while, realized it was useless, and gave it up. At least I hope that's what happened.

Of course every "unconditional surrender" contains the implicit condition of being allowed to live.

Intelligence value, then execution.
