You forget that the Clintons are both above the law and above the ethical standards of mere mortals. Actually the Clintons have redefined "truth," "ethics," "bribe," "is," "sex," and of course "the most ethical administration..."
The Clinton definition of "truth" is what people want to hear at the moment that will result in favorable poll ratings to the Clintons. Similarly, "conflict of interest" to a Clinton is a form of unethical cheating done by others. Clintons by definition can never have conflicts of interest as they are interested in anything and everything that will bring them money and keep them in power. (/sarcasm)

That's exactly what I thought. If Clinton had any integrity at all (I know, that's an oxymoron), she would stay completely out of this and even abstain on the confirmation vote.
Of course, that won't stop Schumer from blue-slipping anyone on her behalf.
