"He might have wanted to do so, to satisfy the blood lust conservatives felt"

Hmm, wanting the virtual knife out of our backs is now defined as "blood lust"?

My, how times have changed...

you bring up an interesting distinction that i had not thought about: parks vs. preservations. in my model i view environmentalists as trying to set up preservations (land that is locked up). parks are those parcels that are 'confiscated' and turned into public domain.

i can live with your proposal, but i would prefer that parks are privatized (few people will buy park land and then not let paying customers use it). let the eco-freaks buy preservation land if they have some special cause.

The goat problem makes it obvious that most people are too stupid to repair the problem the mistake once it has been made.

But you are not too stupid to (re)construct and order the perfect world - eh, mr. (ms.) self-rightous environmentalist?

I appreciate what I view as your genuine concern for the environment.

When I was a teenager I confess to being a rabid anti environmentalist.

Stewardship, responsible stewardship, is somthing that should be practiced by all.

However, taking my rights as a free born and soverign human away, under the guise of environmentalism is just another word for socialism initially, when you enforce that with a gun it is communism.

And I have seen both grizzlies and black bears in the woods, I studiously avoided them, and made sure my 44 Mag was close by my hand. Frankly, I felt less like a potential meal and more like a person with a chance. I would never venture into the deep woods without a fire arm.

It is my God given right to defend my life.

But know that I applaud your concern for the environment. Now just develop the same level of concern for your personal freedom and try to find a way to make the two co exist in your life.
