All I know about Oxford Clerks I read in Chaucer. Horny dudes; but not too intellectual.

Touche'. Nicely done.

How dare you respond to his emotional and ignorant tirade with facts. Have you no shame?
To: BamaCharm
Very thorough and thought provoking post. What a shame that this self-identified 'American of African descent' has a totally closed mind. He probably portrays himself as the voice of black America. As they say over there: "Pity, really."

Your story obviously has a right wing bias (meaning it contains concrete falsehoods) Well . . . we know where his bias is from this statement, don't we--i.e., if you're a conservative, you must be a certified liar.
You did a great job with your response. And you have done a good service for the cause. Every time we call these pointy-headed leftists on the carpet, is one less time we don't let them get away with their outrageous commentary unchallenged.

Your response is brilliant. His e-mail to you is evidence that he is a toad and a dishonorable toad at that.

I have seen leftist blacks on PI many many times, at MSU, the wife of Eldridge Cleaver just got tons of press for appearingat a Black Power Rally ...this person sees what he wants to see. In Universities, they call thinking like his "critical thinking"...I'm NOT joking.

Like you, I have found one sure way to get both intellectuals AND media people "snippy": challenge them on their statements. As you have found, they resort to name calling or ending of discussion, rather than discuss facts.
Some years ago, a member of the editorial staff of the Inquirer ran a hit piece on Jerry Falwell. I responded to him and asked him to support his arguments. All he did was refer me to People for the American Way (!!). Later I called this person, and started talking. Somehow the subject came to churches. When I asked him what church he attended, he all of a sudden stopped the conversation and hung up!!.

Yes, but you had to resort to reason and logic. What a cop out. Reason! Logic! You wimp, you will not even fight fair. You need to get in touch with your feelings and stop this disgraceful habit of hiding behind reasonable, documented, well thought out arguments.

I really, truly doubt he is an intelligent man. I read the article, and I saw no sign the author possesses brains, learning, or common sense (which is so rare, one wonders why it's called common).
The author, had he been born white, would never have become a professor (or much of anything else, I suspect). He's another Lionel Jeffries ...a person who was handed a professorship on the basis of race and nothing else, certainly not intelligence or achievement.
The author is also a loathsome POS. That comes through quite clearly in both his article and his e mail.

Farley probably hasn't heard of any black conservatives beyond the two he disparages. What's with the Coke
bottle? Feminist Icon Anita Hill talked about a Coke
can.
Before he starts citing Belgians as authorities, Farley should read Newt Gingrich's dissertation about Belgian educational policy in the Congo (geared strictly towards Belgium's interests, not to prepare the Congo for future independence). An earlier king of Belgium, Leopold II, was guilty of extreme exploitation of the natives of the Congo...former Confederate soldier Samuel L. Clemens (Mark Twain) was among those denouncing the atrocities.

A thoughtful and courteous response. You are to be commended for your perseverance in the face of what appears to be, for all intents and purposes, a hopeless task.
Stay with it! And keep us abreast of further developments. I will be very surprised if your last response is answered...
