The thing with product activation is that if you buy XP home and want to put it on more than
one computer you need another license.
For example with a family that has a couple of kids pooters and a laptop things could get pricey
I'm not certain but I believe you only save $20.00 or so buying an extra license over the whole shebang.

It's always been this way. You've just been breaking the law if you were doing this before :) (I won't tell, everybody did it).

I believe that is correct. Yes, it is expensive.

Well Duh,

We have been buying a one machine licence from one OS manufacturer or another for 20 years, and then using it on both work and home machines.

Or at least that's the way a Democrat would describe it.

A Republican would tell the truth.

For 20 years we have been stealing half the copies of operating systems we have used. Now the door is padlocked, and whiney little software theives are bitchin about paying for what they use.

Amazing the number of people who turn out to be liberals when asked to pay for what they get.
