Thanks, Yank. As one involved in the dog world, we've been doing this to pups for well over a decade now. Networks of scanners in vet offices, humane societies, pounds, etc. around the country have a simple piece of hand-held equipment to read a stray. Some still choose the old tattoo method, but it's become pretty uncommon now.
The difficulty in resisting such an implant is not really as hard on adults, but for their children and babies. Such tribulation chaos would certainly require parents who became believers during that period to live outside the system of hospitals and schools. It will be very difficult for them.
The USDA hasn't required them YET but Micro chips are highly recomended and I suspect will be mandatory shortly in all Kennel dogs. So far I think the work great, but I won't be shooting myself up; ever.
