Works are an expression of love. They don't save.
They are a commanded by God the Father and Jesus the Son, and the actions of an obediant child or slave to glorify God and bring sinners to the glory. God works through us to attain Godly tasks. He can do them alone but he chooses us to do his works. If they are not necessary then who does God use for his works?
We are all ministers to God's grace and his greatness.
