I knew I wasn't imagining things! Here's a sample of what I remember:

In 1997, 24 generals went to see Secretary of Defense Bill Cohen and resigned en masse. They were sick and tired of arguing and fighting with their own government for equipment, weapons, ammunition, and decent pay for their troops.

Clinton's response? The generals were all threatened with court martial and told that their "retirements" would be spread out over a year's time so as not to embarrass the administration -- and that if any of them spoke truthfully about their resignations, they'd lose their retirement benefits.

Thank uou for digging that up. From what I recall, Klinton forced them to sign statements saying that they had to hush up about the reasons hy they quit.

Rumsfeld has a job that other Bush administration officials are experiencing in other departments - Klinton holdovers which are inept and seditious as the day is long.
