07:44 PST KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- U.S. warplanes struck positions near the Taliban's two principal remaining strongholds on Friday, the first day of Ramadan. In Washington, a U.S. official said Osama bin Laden's military chief was believed to have been killed in an American airstrike.
