Right now the US and company is in no mood to find a truck load (as if that kind of support matters) of contraband with some governments fingerprints on it.

We already have. I dont' recommend hubris as a strategic perspective. I prefer the Andy Grove perspective: Only the paranoid survive.

It won't take a truckload of smallpox to make a mess of our capabilities. Add to that a cutoff of Arab oil, some Chinese adventurism in Taiwan and Colombia, perhaps even sponsoring action in Mexico, North Korea, Albania, and Iraq...

I am not a big fan of bravado, especially when the nation's ammo stores are so depleted. It's still too early for that.

The good thing is that we have leaders who are NOT swept away by early success. All you have to see is any one of a number of interviews and press conferences by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and Franks. They ALL talk about how this is going to be long, and there will be much danger, although in the end we will triumph.

Bravado tonight is understandable...sort of a "neener, neener" to the news media and the "experts."

I have always expected to have troops in Afghanistan for at least a year. This is going to be a long war. Geraldo will probably get plent of stories.
