I remember about 1960 going to CD classes once a week at night. I wonder today why we thought those fallout shelters or home bomb shelters would really have worked. I guess we needed to think in terms of survival, but anyone within close proximity to a strike was ..... well forget the need for a shelter.

I remember my mom going to CD classes. I also remember that our tiny bathroom was stocked with can goods and was supposed to serve as our fallout shelter....just in case. Lawd, it would have done no good for me because my two brothers and I would have killed each other after only 2 hours locked up in that tiny bathroom! LOL
