/Sarcasm Wait a minute WHAT!!!!! you mean it doesn't /Sarcasm
Wonder how many people read this as "disappeared shortly after the end of their relationship." Yep, twelve hours or less after the end of their relationship...
...denied any involvement... Now there's something you don't see every day. The person who is suspected says he's innocent.
Police have said repeatedly they do not consider Condit a suspect in the case. Police interviewed Condit four times, searched his Washington apartment, took a
DNA sample and examined phone and other records. Rather strange actions since they don't consider Condit to be a suspect. Imagine what they'd do if they did.
Perhaps it's just my sensitivites on this issue, but this article seems to be rather applogetic for even covering this issue at all. Several of these statements are so lame they don't even deserve to have been placed in the article.
Posters anyone? http://www.knfo.net/signs/pages/bank17.html
Freep on folks. Let's help Condit make his decision. It will be made by December 7th. This man does not belong in a position of leadership.
To be honest, I thought he had announced he would run again.
House Rule VIII seems far more specific, addressing itself only to subpoenas and judicial orders served on members that relate to "the official functions of the House or for the production or disclosure of any document relating to the official functions of the House..."
The rule further provides for a review to determine whether the subpoena is "a proper exercise of jurisdiction by the court, is material and relevant, and is consistent with the privileges and rights of the House, and does not violate house privilege.
Two possibilities here:
1)The subpoena does, in fact, involve matters directly relating to official functions of the House--which raises a number of interesting questions.
Or, 2)The subject matter of the subpoena is not related to official House function and Condit was angling to hide behind Rule VII to weasel out of compliance.
Abbe Lowell's quick disavowal of Condit's haven't-decided-if-we'll-comply comment tells me that 2 is the likely situation. If the subpoena had even peripherally brushed official function, Abbe would have been all over it.
Registered is nodoubt a genius....I can attest to that.
Okay, so we get to decide for ourselves whether or not we comply with subpeonas? Is this new, or just something for elected representatives; not for us regular folks?
subpoena, sleezy Condit should slink away and resign !!!!!! I LOVE this good news. Thank you for pinging me to it.
He's turning over what the grand jury asked from him. Thats all there is to it.
How about his wife's plane ticket reservation? When was it ordered/purchased? Phone records? House cleaning records? Side trips to VA countyside records? The list could be endless.
Feel free to add to the list.
Not so liberal that they haven't repeatedly called for his resignation!
We still know you had her killed...."
C'mon now Tshirt, you dont want someone to employ the played out tin foil hat saying. Our legislator work in the best interest of the people. The FBI and BATF do not tell lies. Our government is honest and forthcoming. Get with the Freerepublic progam pal...
Was he released from jail ?
10:07 A.M. - ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House resumed one minute speeches.
The House received a communication from the Honorable Gary A. Condit. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Condit notified the House that his office had been served with a grand jury subpoena for documents issued by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he would make the determination required by the Rule.
