My Pastor said in his sermon just after the attacks, that God did not let this happen.

In the human heart there is the choice of good and evil

Those that follow God are saved; those that do not are not.

The choice is up to each of us, as are the consequences.

People who chose evil in their hearts attacked us.

Your pastor is correct. Throughout human history God has blessed those nations who have allowed their people to chose the religion of their choice. As bad as the Mongols may seemed to have been, they allowed their citizens the free will regarding religious expression. Christians were even given tax exemption along with other religions. When the Chinese allowed free religious expression during the Tang dynasty, their nation prospered.

God allows man to chose. Pro-Choice is not a modern term.
