Bush didn't buckle up. Should annoy the liberals even more, setting such a bad example for children. =)

"Air Force One lands at Grey Air Force Base which is part of Fort Hood Texas in Killeen."

Thanks for the info.

From here it sure looks like the plural of "pepper" was rendered as "pepper's" rather than "peppers".

I suppose this means that, if you're comfortable delegating duties, you have to be able to endure the occasional mistake.

Mrs. Putins' sweater - people, people, this is TEXAS, and Mrs. Putin understands that! She gave Mrs. Bush a yellow rose (from our state song), and those are chili peppers on her sweater, albeit not the best looking ones I've seen, but perfectly appropriate and likely meant as a compliment to our first couple. Lots o' Texas gals wear chili peppers from time to time on clothes, jewelry, etc. Normally they are a bit smaller, and look better, but still I think she was trying to make a statement that they are glad to be in Texas.

Kind of like the Russian guy in the book Red October wanting to be in a pickup truck, Mrs. Putin may not have found the best looking chili pepper sweater to wear, but I think it's sweet and showed her desire to be a Texan for at least a few days (we're used to that, thank God I was born and raised here...)

Seatbelt - somebody caught it earlier, GWB was on his private property and did not have to wear a seatbelt by Texas state law. Sheesh.

Do they serve Blue Bell ice cream where you live? Blue Bell vanilla on top of pecan pie, various cobblers, apple pie, whatever - awesome! If visiting here you have to try it sometime.

Last, I can't believe anybody would be concerned that GWB does not know how to handle a KGB type. That's one of things I love about our President - he is a sincere, warm, and genuine man, but don't be fooled - he's one smart/tough SOB. That's just how we are in Texas. Of course, our politically correct world has forgotten that real men can be this way...

Hook-em Horns!

I don't know if this was done purely for the photo-op but note who is holding the umbrellas. Now think back. Have you ever seen Clinton or Gore hold an umbrella? (Much less drive a truck.)

Both pilots. Interesting. What would be funny would be for both of them to log a little time and then go up at someplace like Red Flag against each other. Especially if they did it "on the sly." Twenty on Putin.

It's still a funny as h*ll image. Oh, heck, as POTUS it's even better if they flew the truck (on a C-17) up to NY and did it to Hillary Clinton's lawn. Can't you just see the two secret service detachments rolling their eyes? Putin shouting Russian insults ("TOBV YO MUT! STUKACH!") at the Clintons and dinging x42 in the forehead with an empty vodka bottle while Bush does donuts.

BTW, Putin is wearing his seatbelt and Bush isn't. It's TX state law!

Truck being driven across private property - not on public road. Safety-nazi laws do not apply.

"Is there any way you can extend this President's term beyond eight years? :-) He is a treasure!"

We haven't let the Constitution stop us before, so why not?

I'm certain it was not photo-op phoniness. I have seen many pictures of President Bush holding an umbrella for someone, carrying some else's luggage, assisting an older person (such as Nelson Mandella this week), bending down to a child or a person in a wheelchair, etc. He is simply a well-bred gentleman ..... one who is not so self-centered that he thinks the world is here to wait on him but instead thinks that he is to help others.

" ``I still know how to drive,'' said Bush, who is more accustomed to being driven around in a limousine. "

Good 'ol Rueters. Being driven in a limo as a part of your job is NOT the same as being "accostomed" to limo travel, as if he can't get around any other way. BTW, that was one nice truck.
