There is no way in the world that Texas is being properly represented in Washington DC with a majority of the congressmen being Democrat.
The state votes Republican in every statewide election. The Democratic Party in Texas is almost dead.
Yet, this plan sends Democrats to represent us. Pathetic.

If you look at the plan overlap analysis, you can really how this map is an incumbent-protection plan. Joe Barton is the only incumbent whose new district is not 60% composed of constituents from his old district. Not that it matters to Barton because his new district is still strongly GOP; just not overwhelmingly GOP.

It can become 16-16, if Chet Edwards is kncoked out ,
Furthermore, if Hall retires ( he is 81 )it will be 17-15 for the GOP.
Elections result from 2000 for Edwards (Incumb.) district 107,636 55 % vs
Farley 86,478 45
