Above does not try to provide answers as much as it does provoke questions. Your comments are welcome, as long as they do not blame AA crash or 9/11 on the Hale-Bopp comet..... :~)

If speculation and discussion of potential causes for such an event make you uncomfortable, perhaps you shouldn't subject yourself to it by coming here.

There's no evidence of terrorism, yet.
By saying it's an accident right away, just think how much of a drop in the stock market it saved, how much anxiety in the public it saved, how much of the airline stock prices it saved, how much of a burden on the airline security systems it saved and how much egg on the face of the government saying flying is safe it saved.
Makes you wonder...?
By delaying the terrorism wild card and if it was true, people will now react somewhat less! Ya think?

It is not the "speculation and discussion" that bother people.

"This failure to deliver a verdict before bedtime is taken as further proof of negative government intervention."
Spot on.

What you are observing has been described as the "echo-chamber" effect of the internet, and on-line communities in general.

Last year, some poster claimed TW800 was caused by ghosts of a 1948 Navy electronics experiment gone wrong, and other chimed in to agree! Hmmm, got a link?

I do not claim to know what caused the crash in Rockaway. I do not think it unfair to mention that it is relatively unusual for planes to start breaking apart in mid air. I do not think that the Gov. Pataki did anyone a service by stating the pilot dumped fuel from the aircraft when that aircraft did not have such a capability. All the above said I await the explanation of just how the accident occurred. The problems of OKC and TWA Flt 800 have left a large resivoir of distrust of offial statements.

I think the root of the problem is the eight long years of being told bold-faced lies
by the likes of Clinton and his cronies.
I, for one will put more faith in what the authorities tell us
AFTER the Clinton left-overs are removed from the government.

What bothers people are the "if you can't see that this was definitely terrorism, then you are a moronic pawn of the state" posters. They are beyond merely irrational.

Yea, how gullible do they think we are?

What bothers people are the "if you can't see that this was definitely terrorism, then you are a moronic pawn of the state" posters. They are beyond merely irrational. Sure, they are ridiculous.
But in a website that encourages active participation from thousands of posters, you get comments ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime.
It's the nature of the beast.
The best available option for these odd-birds, is to either rebutt them, or ignore them.
