I've ranted - and been severely chastised - about this before.

It isn't just from the 1980's on.

Go back to when women first became organized as a political force, vocal and got the right to vote. What came next? How about income tax, welfare, bigger government, redefining of rights and roles, moral decay and increased socialism in general?

And I'm not crazy about having to work with women either. In my workplace (radio - 3 stations) we have 3 morning shows to put together. Altogether about ten people are involved on air between 5 and 9 AM. When it's just the guys everything runs pretty smoothly; we all get along fine and there are few conflicts.

But after we started a "traffic girl" and another woman as part of a morning team things spiraled downward. Suddenly stupid litle things that the guys never worried about became imprtant. Things like who gest what headphones, or chair, or the exact placement of personel.

Both women are incredibly self-centered. nearly ever sentence they speak begins with "I" or "me". To them the shows are all about their reaction to the world, as opposed to the guys watching whats going on and then commenting on it.

One of the women will litterally walk into the studio a half an hour before she's supposed to and rearrange everything to her liking. Nevermind the person who's on-air at the time! And when you tell her to stop she starts to whine about being professional and having everything in order.

Meanwhile the traffic girl sits in a little cubicle by herself until it's time for her to go on. Then she DEMANDS a producer ring her at T-2 minutes and T-1 minute instead of watching the clock like a guy does.

Bascially she's playing a Diva wanting a cue call - "Two minutes to air Ms Finelli! Two minutes to air!" Then she makes a big deal of running down the hall and into the studio at the last minute. That makes a lot of noise and disturbance. After she gets into the studio she looks around to see if anyone noticed. And despite the cue calls, she's still late lots of times. So late in fact that quite often when I'm in a newscast and she comes in late I just shake my head and blow the traffic segment away. So does the other newsguy.

When we've confronted these bitches about the problems they cry - really - and whine about just trying to make a living - put their kids through school, etc.

And before you say it's just these two let me say that over the 20 or so years I've been in the business, I have met NOT ONE woman broadcaster who was different! NOT ONE!

Admittedly guys have their faults, but women are worse.
