Propaganda of all kinds, from newscasters saluting themselves to national leaders lobbying the public, is the furniture of TV. Commercials start at the top these days, notably Bush's nationally televised speech Thursday that many commentators correctly labeled a "pep talk" by a president understandably selling wartime confidence and his economic stimulus package.
It was a masterfully designed sales pitch before a boisterous and supportive Atlanta audience of uniformed military, law-enforcement officers, firefighters, postal workers and health-care workers who spent as much time on their feet applauding as in their seats.

I wrote him a letter not long ago when he criticized President Bush's speech after the Sept. 11 attack. If I recall correctly, Rosenberg gushed about how much better Clintoon would have been giving such a speech and said that President Bush doesn't "fill the screen." It's all about the show in Hollywood.
From my post on a previous thread:
Just in case you missed it, here is a short quote from Howard Rosenberg's attack piece in the Los Angeles Times on September 14, 2001. Since we are under court order not to post the FULL TEXT of the drivel in the L.A.T. - Thank God! - I am also posting a link, which will expire very soon. (Too bad Rosenberg's "hate speech" will not expire with it!)
From Bush's Image Fails to Fill the Screen:
"...Even his body language is troubling, as when TV cameras captured him returning to the White House late Tuesday after being shuttled about on Air Force One after an alert that the presidential residence and plane also had been possible targets of that day's terrorism. The Bush we saw, walking alone, appeared almost to be slinking guiltily across the lawn.
Bush has seemed almost like a little boy at times --a kid with freckles wishing he were somewhere else--when instead a national anchorman was needed to speak believably with confidence about the state of the union during one of its darkest hours..."
(This attack was published while the bodies from the Twin Towers were not yet cold.)
Are you angry enough yet to FReep him?
And the L.A. Times?
There are TWO WAYS to notify Hugh Hewitt listeners, ACTIVE and PASSIVE: !
I heard Hugh discussing this stupid column. Truthfully, it ain't worth discussing
It does seem at times that Hugh is "railing against the winds" in exposing the incredible bias at the "Left Angeles Times," but SOMEONE need to do it!
Did you hear that Hugh also played a clip from "The Ballad of Mike Moran", and plugged the url of the website:
Personal TimePS - wtr, the NEXT time you might get more BUMPS if you spice up the dull ORIGINAL title a little, with a short summary of your own, like:

Personal Time [left-wing "New Republic" BLASTS DemocRAT Senator Pat Leahy]
That graphic is AMAZING!!!! Did YOU create it? Bravo!!!
No, I did not. Yes, it's very nice. I'm glad you like it, Ron.
They are even cold-calling us down here in the East County of San Diego, trying to drum up some business. I know the callers aren't responsible for editorial policy, but I tell them and the S.D. Union Tribune callers the same thing you do. Maybe it will work its way back up the chain if enough people tell them to take a flying leap, and why.
Rosenberg must've been an admirer of Willie's nose...
I may just have to borrow your "fish wrap" line.. maybe I'll get lucky and they'll hang up on me.
This may be a dumb question, but do you people give your real e-mail address when you send "angry" e-mail? Are there any repercussions?
That is an EXCELLENT question!
Personally, I generally give them my REAL name, address, phone number and e-mail address.
I read somewhere that messages with this personal information are VERY effective, since they get so much "hate mail" from "wackos" and kooks - who always want to remain anonymous.
I want to CHANGE "hearts and minds," whenever possible, which I CANNOT do if they DELETE my message unread.
No matter how PASSIONATE my messages, I try to use the guidelines for posting on Free Republic, i.e.: NO violence, NO racism, NO personal attacks. (That last one is often a TOUGH one!)
I ask myself, "Would I want my mother to read what I wrote?" (It sounds corny, but it helps me to temper my anger.)
Plus, MY mother is an English teacher...
In any event, my "personal information" e-mails sometimes really hit paydirt, i.e.:
