Rush said today that he thinks we are doing even better than anyone expected over there. And I got a kick out of Britt Hume reporting that the volunteers that went from Pakistan to Afghanistan to "help" are returning home to Pakistan via bus from Kabul. They said there were lots of bombs dropping there and there was nothing they could do about it...Duh...
I love that picture because those are the sailors and marines (USS Theodore Roosevelt) that will get our Guild care packages and stockings.

"I doubt very much that they would admit to being tired - " I was a helicopter pilot -- we got tired and did not mind admitting it. Tired pilots are more suseptible to making a mistake. Flying under stress is very tiring.

This is a great thread. I love seeing pictures of our troops and how they are doing.

Here is another picture taken on the same day of our sailors and marines on the Roosevelt playing deck basketball on that one day they have had off since 9/25.

Hopefully the next time they show pictures of our Roosevelt troops they will be wearing colorful scarves and sucking on Jolly Ranchers!!!!

"All of the intelligence that determines what would be a friendly force versus what might be an enemy force (is) being processed, and when the command center positively rules out that it is not friendly, (a vehicle) will be attacked," O'Hanlon said. Now if the press could just learn from our straight talking heroes...no "maybe" this, or "so and so said" that. I can't figure out who the press is listening to. Donald Rumsfeld and the Bush team has been focused and clear from the start....and Ari is flummoxing them with his refusal to rise to their inane fearmongering. (^:

Won't that be wonderful. They are going to LOVE what the Guild sent and thanks to your hard work they WILL get the packages for sure. Thanks HLL again soooooo much for your work to get things sent to the troops.

This is one of my very favorite pictures:

--Crew members of the USS Theodore Roosevelt cheer as they watch a closed circuit broadcast to the crew of successful bombing runs against Taliban targets in Afghanistan, November 9, 2001. The footage they watched was shot by Navy and Marine pilots making the runs from the aircraft carrier operating in the Arabian Sea. The seaman wearing the red shirts prepare the bombs that are loaded on the aircraft. REUTERS/POOL/Dave Martin - Nov 09 10:35 AM ET
