You can bet they know more than they are saying at this point. Or..... It was a simple mechanical problem, but if the sheeple think it was terrorists, then they just may agree to give up nore freedoms.

there are numerous reports of a wing separation. the last time this happened as the result of plain old mechanical failure was the mainspar problem with the lockheed electra in the early 1960s. highly unlikely with an airbus.

Ask yourself why the FBI would make such a statement at this point? I have no answers, but this FBI statement is curious.

What freedoms have you given up, exactly?

One way to look at it is how much bigger the market flying boeing is over airbus. and airbus has a statistically unlikely number of crashes...that is to say, with (practically) all flights on boeing planes, airbus crashes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much.
AND since someone is bound to get all uppity even with all the airline mechanics I personally know... here ya go Airbus, the leader in air disaster!!!

Or..... It was a simple mechanical problem, but if the sheeple think it was terrorists, then they just may agree to give up nore freedoms. For all the libertarian ranting about how horrible the United States is, they've yet to pick a better country -- or move there.
This incident happened just two months after Sept. 11, and in New York City. A mechanical problem seems improbable.

Tsk tsk tsk. How soon we forget Flight 800.

Yeah, like we see this type of explosion/crash all the time....
Not.

You referenced a mechanical problem. I grew up in a home where my father was an aircraft engineer (lead mechanic). The pilots and mechanics go through stringent check lists before taking to the skies before every flight. If anything happens to the plane, the mechanics get the penalty. So, you can bet that they had their bases covered before the plane left the ground.
My bet is that a small missile launcher took it from the ground. I became convinced that TWA800 was hit by a small missile launcher when I witnessed the Taliban showing off their "personal missile launchers" before the war escalated. I can see how easily it would be to bring those into this country. They could have been transported by car, van, boat or small plane.

"...but if the sheeple think it was terrorists..." ==============================================
I'm figuring if that were to be allowed to happen.....the Airline Industry, as we have today, would become a page of airborne history....
....just a thought....
