Really?
Care to give examples of when they created the news or twisted it by leaving out facts?
Have you ever read their report on Oklahoma City or Waco?
Nukem
Me too.
Many people on this site hate the UN, why they think that it is out to take over America they cite document after document.
This is complete bollox, there are two sides to the UN the bureaucratic nightmare and gravy train, for that is what it is, not a global master mind plot, just a big fat gravy train, and there is the other side, the people on the ground trying to look after the mess from countless wars.
I have taken part in UN operations in Africa and the Balkans each time we were invited in by local governments who had given up on there people, most of my work was escorting aid conveys and setting up tents for refugees, and watching people starve to death.
As for Gun grabbing by the UN yes there is a move to limit arms and disarm civilians, but we are not talking America, we are not talking an American who has a private gun collection for sport and self defence, a collection he can afford.
We are talking about tribal gangs locally armed youths, most spaced out on some local drug of choice armed by some local war lord like out of a Mad Max movie, preying on a local population who could not even afford a single round never mind the cost of an AK47.
Independence is a great thing freedom is great and to be cherished, but we are talking about people who can not afford protection being preyed on my criminal gangs, sons taken of to be recruits little girls as sex slaves, and nobody gives a dam, so yes the UN is not perfect, yes its a bloated bureaucracy which various governments including America has used for there own selfish reasons but take it away and what have you got a big fat nothing.
I am proud of my time in the Military and that includes duty with the UN manning peace lines and guarding aid which helped to save lifes
Tony
Care to back up that ignorant statement?
As for Gun grabbing by the UN yes there is a move to limit arms and disarm civilians, but we are not talking America......yet.
What lover of Freedom, in their right mind can take that chance, in light of History's hard lessons? I certainly will not. Hence, it is perfectly reasonable to sound the alarm whenever tinpot dictators huddle to discuss what's best for the rest of us, for who knows if and when those tiny bureaucratic tyrants may one day weild real power.
Additionally, why are the lives of non-Americans any less entitled to means of self defense? Do the Dutch, Brits, Indians, Hutus have some innate duty to lie down and willingly die when so ordered?
One of the great tragedies to come out of WWII was our failure to shove the Bill Of Rights down everyone else's throats.
Well, Tony, we think a bit differently here in this country. Remember 1776?
And it's "lives," not "life's"
Solution: Help the poor by arming them and giving them 100 rounds--then when gang members come around to prey upon them, they WILL have some protection. Disarming them NEVER helps them and can certainly harm them. Criminals will never turn in their guns just because a law says so.
