It's all so sad. To think that this is one of the hardest hit 9/11 neighborhoods with respect to losses - esp. firefighters. The initial reports say there are 30 kids who lost parents in this neighborhood. Today's losses will undoubtedly create orphans and more widows/widowers....can't cry hard enough....
Yes, this is too sad. We NYers lovingly refer to Belle Harbor as the Irish Riviera. A tremendous amount of NYC Firemen, Cops and Sanitation Workers live there.
They have a great St. Pattys day parade there every year.
The jerks on the radio and some on T.V. keep referring to the area as Far Rockaway, which is in the opposite direction and mostly African-American.
I went to High School there on Beach 112 St.
I am numb right now.
