Under any standard that counted all disputed votes in Florida, Gore erased Bush's advantage and emerged with a tiny lead that ranged from 42 to 171 votes.

HAHAHA! This is a total JOKE people. Last week when Drudge had leaked this info, I thought it was going to be in the THOUSANDS for Gore.. 42 to 171 votes is way , Way, WAY smaller than the margin of error, so it is STATISTICALLY MEANINGLESS.. So in the best case for gore, it is a virtual tie.. at best.. (and considering these were ILLEGAL VOTES, it doesn't even matter..).

Drudge really shot his was over this one.. I almost feel embarrassed for him.. sheesh. I guess he is trying to predict the probably overreaction from the media or something.. what a silly, silly story... a fitting ending to a pathetic, and now meaningless controversy..

alot more than 171 legal military votes were cast aside by gores lawyers and people seem to forget the over 5000(at least) illegal votes cast by felons

That's right!! And besides in order for anyone to il-legitimately proclaim "GORE WON" they'd have to recount every vote over/under illegal vote in the country and attempt (once again) to determine what the voter was thinking!!

No, Matt Drudge has taken a calculated risk. By leaking the data set now, he has pretty much dared people to say Gore would be an unequivocal winner.

Instead, Matt has releaved that Gore wins by 171 votes, and this means that when you add the military ballots tossed out and the votes that Bob Beckel admitted Bush lost with the early call, Bush is a clear - albeit, close - winner in Florida.
