Washington -- The United States has identified sites in Afghanistan that are suspected of involvement in Osama bin Laden's efforts to acquire and produce chemical and biological weapons, but none have been bombed since the military campaign began, according to U.S. military and intelligence officials.

This is a really silly article.

Anyone with a shred of chemical background can do this. Just dump some potassium cyanide and hydrochloric acid (or any other acid of your choice) in a glass and breathe deeply ...

This is the technique used in gas chambers, worldwide.

It's no big deal to notice that al Qaeda can do this, too.

crude cyanide

Cyanide itself is pretty "crude" and is one of the very simplest gases to make. All college chemistry students (and some high school) have done this in labs all over the country.

The author gives away his total ignorance of science..but then most news media types are "cut & paste" journalists that believe anything they hear, especially if it's from another journalist.
