You're welcome. I look forward to the Leonids every year, I hope this year is worth all the hype (and so does my hubbie who gets dragged out of bed in the middle of the night). Pray for clear skies!

Sounds good. We are going to our mountain hideout in So. California. Its has a large deck and its at the 6500 foot level. I hope its clear and we are hoping its a great show this year.

My wife and I have been looking for a reason to spend the night camping on our property that's rather remote. This couldn't be timed any better. Saturday night/Sunday morning should be quite interesting.
Thanks again.

[from the NASA site]
Below: The Leonid radiant, denoted by a red dot, will appear high in the southern sky at 5 o'clock in the morning (local time) as viewed from mid-Northern latitudes.
That's good -- now it'll be easier to spot where the meteors are coming from .... ;-)
Seriously though, let's hope that clear skies will abound, the moon will be no factor at all this year.

Violent Meteor Storm Heads For Earth When will they learn that violence isn't the answer?

The Hubble has a cover for the lens opening that resembles a giant toilet seat lid.

I wet my pants in the early/mid sixties, about 6 am, in a small town in OKLA due to this f***in' meteor shower.
My dad had just helped me load the morning papers onto my bike for my paper-route.
I only made it about two blocks from my house when I saw the light show above me.
It was amazing! The entire sky was alive for about a week...
This is cool if you know it's coming, and we aren't hurt. If it IS a BIG STORM, and your a young teen on a paper-route, AND IT'S WAY DARK, you'll pee your pants and race home.
