As the World Trade Center imploded just blocks from where she stood, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton's first fears included the prospect that President Bush's economic program would stymie any rebuilding effort.
"I was worried that with the tax cut we wouldn't have enough money to repair New York and D.C. and to help the families of the thousands I knew must have died," writes the former first daughter in an up close and personal account of the Sept. 11 disaster set to appear in the December issue of Talk Magazine.
Clinton claims she was all alone in nearby Union Square and unable to reach her parents by phone as the disaster unfolded before her eyes.
"We all thought we were literally going to have fire rain down on us. That we were the next target," the former first daughter reveals.
"I truly thought I was going to die," Clinton claims she was thinking, just before she began worrying about the impact of the Bush economic program.
The disaster has rallied young Clinton's civic-minded spirit, and she uses her Talk Magazine screed to rally her generation to public service. "We need to step up and serve in any way we can," Chelsea urges.
Her own war effort, however, will apparently be limited to following the footsteps of her father, who dodged the Vietnam draft from the safety of England's Oxford University.
News that the Bush tax cuts were among Ms. Clinton's earliest concerns on 9/11 follows on the heels of a speech by ex-President Clinton Wednesday that seemed to blame the terrorist attacks on American slavery and the mistreatment of the Indians.

The Clintons have groomed her well. This is one of the funniest statements I have ever heard. She needs to find another political consultant on this one because I don't think even the Dems buy this story. She is just as looney as Billy boy.

Let's see. It's everyone's fault .... except:

She's a skank just like her mother and in no postion to critique anything that Bush does for many reasons.
The least of which is that her old man was slobbing it with a trashy little whore her age when he should have been hunting down Bin Laden.

"I was worried that with the tax cut we wouldn't have enough money to repair New York and D.C. and to help the families of the thousands I knew must have died," writes the former first daughter THIS is what she was thinking as New York was collapsing around her???? Who does this dumb punk broad think she's kidding?!
As she thinks she's going to die, in the same thought she worries about President Bush's tax cuts?
This is so laughable, phony, shallow, and so utterly Clintonesque (like her mom and dad) I'm so sorry these people have managed to procreate.
Please, stop Chelsea before she breeds!!!

Hey, look at that, it's Hillary and Chelsea! They're giving piggy-back rides to those two ugly women.
To: Diogenesis
Which one is Chelsea, the one on the top or bottom?

As I hid behind sandbags in Vietnam, I would often say to myself,"I certainly am enjoying my tax-free status!" YA!

Haven't seen anyone else bring this up, but I think this is a real hoot. Chelsea basically bashes her dad when she says, "I am still unsure about what Humpty Dumpty represented to me on that day, because I do not subscribe to -- and I even resent -- the theory that America's arrogance, even indirectly, led to the attacks. It just seemed as though the world were falling down, like Humpty Dumpty." Considering the fact that her dad is now the premier advocate of the "America's arrogance" crowd, I happen to think it's funny as hell that she unwittingly condemed him. Her remarks would have been made and printed long before his speech, and I bet Tina Brown would love to yank back every copy that's been issued. The conservative commentators had GOT to point this

I don't even have a joke here.
I can't believe that the Cliton's were really the first family. Did that really happen? These classless fools were leading our country?!?! Really?

Maybe Chelsea was worried that the tax cut might have a negative impact on all the free perks that she and her parents continue to receive at everybody else's expense?!?
