Well, that's a stretch. I am a Lutheran and have answered to Christian all of my life. I am a Christian, but not a Christian? I don thin sooooo.

And as for the non-denominational people....gosh, I know many and the reason they are non-denominational is because American families have done a lot of blending and some of the people I know feel that the non-denominational choice is LESS stringent and dramatic then Catholic, Lutheran, or whatever. People I know who are non-denominational or no more right-wing then I am. So, unless I completely misunderstand your post, I don't agree at all.

Well, maybe it's me and maybe it's not, but more than once I've gotten the feeling I'm being judged unfavorably when I respond to the referenced question, "Are you a Christian?" , "I'm an Episcopalian."

As if that makes me not a Christian.

Of course, the persons who come to mind right now are all members of a Presbyterian Church.
